CHED RO1 participates in NWM Kick-off Ceremony

The Commission on Higher Education Regional Office I (CHED RO1), through its Gender and Development (GAD) Focal Point System led by Dr. Cherrie Melanie Ancheta-Diego, CESO III, Director IV, actively participated in the National Women’s Month Kick-Off Ceremony on March 6, 2026, at the Police Regional Office 1 grounds in San Fernando City, La Union.

The celebration featured a GAD Fun Walk, ZUMBA Session, and booth showcasing CHED RO1’s gender-responsive programs in higher education.

Through interactive displays and advocacy materials, the office promoted awareness on gender equality, inclusivity, and women’s rights.

CHED RO1 personnel also joined cultural and solidarity activities, emphasizing teamwork, empowerment, and leadership.

The highlight of the event was the “Rampa of Babaylans,” where representative Ms. Kristine Marie Casugay, PTS III, embodied strength and heritage in a Baybaylan-inspired ensemble.

Anchored on the theme “Babae sa Lahat ng Sektor, Aangat ang Bukas sa Bagong Pilipinas,” the activity celebrated women’s contributions across sectors.

CHED RO1’s participation underscored its continuing mission to advance gender advocacy—proving that empowerment is best realized through collective action and meaningful engagement.
