The Commission on Higher Education Regional Office I joins the nation in celebrating the 48th National Disability Rights Week (NDRW) from July 17–23, 2026, pursuant to Proclamation No. 597, s. 2024.
This annual observance highlights our collective responsibility to uphold the rights, dignity, and full participation of persons with disabilities (PWDs) in all aspects of society, including higher education.
With this year’s theme:
“Rights First, Legislation Forward – Strategic Action for Equal Participation and Inclusive Development,”
CHED Regional Office I reaffirms its commitment to promoting accessible, inclusive, and equitable higher education by encouraging higher education institutions to foster learning environments where every learner is empowered to succeed regardless of ability.
Together, let us continue advancing disability inclusion, eliminating barriers, and ensuring that no one is left behind in achieving quality education and sustainable development.
