𝗖𝗛𝗘𝗗 𝗥𝗢𝗜 𝗷𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗺𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗘𝗨-𝗔𝗦𝗘𝗔𝗡 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀
The Commission on Higher Education Regional Office I (CHED ROI) joined the virtual exploratory meeting initiated by the Erasmus Mundus Association (EMA), reinforcing its commitment to strengthening internationalization efforts and expanding collaboration between Philippine higher education institutions (HEIs) and ASEAN–EU partners on February 17, 2026 via Zoom.
Mr. Nicky C. Cardenas, EMA Country Representative and International Relations Officer of Romblon State University, facilitated the discussion of the agenda items that focused on the creation of the ASEAN–EU Consortium, the development of Erasmus+ funded project proposals, European Students and Alumni Association (ESAA) funded project proposals, the celebration of EMA Days, the conduct of an ASEAN–EU Webinar Series, and the exploration of potential higher education institution (HEI) collaborations with ASEAN–EU stakeholders.
The EU-ASEAN stakeholders present were Diaconia University of Applied Sciences – DIAK (Finland), Yalova University (Türkiye), OCEANS Network, Garag Erasmus (Italy), University of Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), the Development Academy of the Philippines, and the CHED – International Affairs Service.
Dr. Al Gerald S. Barde, CHED ROI Education Supervisor II and Focal Person for Internationalization, joined the Philippine higher education institutions in the meeting: Isabela State University, Nueva Vizcaya State University, Saint Louis University, Camarines Norte State College, Mindanao State University, and Romblon State University.
