The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) successfully conducted the Zonal Consultative Workshop on the Proposed Implementing Guidelines of the Philippine Credit Transfer System (PCTS) for the Computer Engineering (CpE) Program for Luzon Cluster 1 at the CHED Central Office Auditorium, Quezon City last June 30, 2026.

The consultative assembly gathered key stakeholders from the Luzon Cluster 1, consisting of Regions I, II, III, NCR, and CAR, to review and harmonize the guidelines that will allow seamless academic credit transfers, empowering computer engineering students with greater academic mobility and flexible learning pathways.

The workshop was facilitated by Dr. Jeffrey Sarmiento, Dr. Maria Cecilia Venal and Engr. Noel Linsangan, members of the Technical Committee for the Computer Engineering Program.
Representing the frontline of academic leadership, deans and program heads from six (6) Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in Region 1 namely Lyceum-Northwestern University (LNU), Northwestern University (NWU), PHINMA University of Pangasinan (UPang), Universidad de Dagupan (UdD), University of Luzon (UL), and Urdaneta City University (UCU), actively participated and contributed their valuable insights during the said workshop.

The contribution of our participating deans and program heads, will surely be a great help in building a more integrated, responsive, and globally competitive educational ecosystem for our future computer engineers.

Engr. Leonora Quarte, CHEDRO I Education Supervisor II, joined the deans and program heads in the workshop, reinforcing the spirit of partnership and commitment to advancing engineering education in the Region.
