The PHINMA University of Pangasinan (UPang) College of Hospitality and Tourism Management was named the Ilocos Regional Winner in the Tourism Start-Up Challenge 2025 at Seda Vertis North in Quezon City held on May 12, 2026.
The recognition was earned through the DAMILI initiative of UPang which empowered farmers, artisans and local communities to create, manage, and earn directly from tourism, promoting inclusive and sustainable local development.
The project was led by proponents Clark Kenneth Sison, Kyle Matuog, Kassandra Reyes, Carl Junio, and Alisha Florendo, with Lloyd Diawan serving as project adviser.
This flagship initiative was organized by the Department of Tourism (DOT) in partnership with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).
