The Commission on Higher Education Regional Office I (CHED RO1) showed its commitment to gender equality and inclusive governance by joining the 2026 GAD Focal Point System (GFPS) Strategic Planning and General Assembly, held from August 4 to 6, 2026, at the Twin Lakes Hotel in Laurel, Batangas.

Representing CHED RO1 at the national gathering was Ms. Dianne Joyce B. Montemayor-Rivera, Administrative Officer III.

The three-day assembly focused on evaluating past performance and charting strategic pathways for gender mainstreaming across higher education.

A major highlight of the event was the presentation of the GAD Workplace Experience Survey Results, followed by an interactive workshop on GAD Situation Assessment and Priority Setting where participants identify pressing workplace gender issues and establish actionable solutions based on survey feedback from CHED personnel.

Additionally, the gathering featured an orientation on the reconstituted GFPS structure, a review of the Gender Mainstreaming Evaluation Framework (GMEF) validation results, and the launch of the CHED GAD Agenda 2026–2031 Strategic Framework.

Delegates also actively collaborated on identifying regional gender priorities in the draft 2027 GAD Plan and Budget (GPB).

The assembly concluded with the rollout of the GFPS Operational Roadmap (2026–2027)β€”paving the way for a more inclusive future as CHED RO1 continues to advocate for empowering, gender-fair policies in higher education across the region.
