𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐃 𝐑𝐎𝟏 𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐬 𝟓-𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫 𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐄𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 𝐄𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞

With a compliance score of 92.2 %, the CHED Regional Office 1 (CHED RO1) received a Five-Star Rating in energy efficiency compliance from the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Public Sector Management Division under the Department of Energy (EECPSMD-DOE) on April 29, 2026.

The five-star rating reflected the agency’s dedication to sustainable governance and responsible energy use.

Mr. Joel S. Miguel, OIC-Supervising SRS, together with Ms. Mylene Pinky Cherry Bulalaque, SRS II, and Mr. Adrian Kristoffer Diaz, SRS II, assessed CHED RO1’s compliance with Republic Act 11285 and related committee resolutions.

The assessment focused on four areas: institutionalization of energy efficiency and conservation, electricity conservation measures, fuel-saving strategies, and reports and inventories. CHEDROI demonstrated strong commitment by embedding energy practices into policies, using energy-efficient lighting, promoting behavioral change campaigns, optimizing vehicle use, and maintaining accurate documentation of energy consumption and compliance.

The team also oriented CHED RO1’s Energy Efficiency and Conservation Officer and Focal Person on the new GEMP Online System.

This achievement sets a benchmark for other government agencies, showing how institutional commitment, conservation measures, and systematic reporting can advance the goals of the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act while contributing to national sustainability targets.
